About FPMS Band
The Four Points Middle School Band opened in 2010 under the direction of Christopher Yee, Jessica Gonzales, and Paul Pape. Since then, the band program has experienced rapid growth and success aiming to provide students with tools for life through performance of quality music. FPMS bands enjoy performing several concerts within the community throughout the year and consistently receive superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sightreading and various state festivals.
Presently, and within five years of its conception, the Four Points Middle School Band is comprised of roughly 50% of the overall student body, which encapsulates more than 70% of the 6th grade class.
In 2015, the FPMS Wind Ensemble performed at the prestigious Midwest Clinic – an honor extended to only two middle schools in the United States per year!
The Four Points Band takes great pride in being the students’ “home away from home” within FPMS. Students can be found in the band hall early in the morning, late in the afternoon, and during lunches; they are practicing their instruments, doing homework and socializing with their friends in the familiar and welcoming environment of the band hall. The culture fostered in the Four Points band is one of achievement, friendship, and encouragement.
